To the @MarquetteU class of 2013…
There’s electricity in the air today on Marquette University’s campus. As I was walking down Wisconsin Ave. on my way to my internship, I passed by every freshman dorm. You could just feel the excitement and nerves of all the incoming freshman as they unloaded their belongings from their parents car and into their new home.
The energy was contagious.
I felt myself getting excited for classes to start, excited for campus to fill up again and excited to get back into the routine of school.
And then it hit me.
These kids are excited to be starting their first year of college. They’re excited to go to their first college class, their first college party and live without their parents for the first time.
I’m heading into my LAST year. My last college classes, my last college parties, and REALLY living on my own in a year.
I can vividly remember my freshman move-in day. Freshman orientation. Heading to my first classes. I’m lucky enough that my friends from freshman year are, for the most part, still my best friends now.
But seriously. Where did these last few years go??
So, to the Marquette University Class of 2013. Enjoy yourself. Have fun, study hard, and meet as many people as possible. These 4 years will go by faster than you can imagine. Oh, and ladies who are “stuck” in Cobeen. I know you are trying as hard as you can to get switched out, but my advice is this: don’t. I was mad when I was assigned to Cobeen my freshman year, but I met some of my BEST friends there and would not have changed my freshman year experience for anything.
